North Miami Beach was incorporated in 1926. The citys original name was Fulford, after U.S. Coast Guard Captain, William H Fulford. The city changed its name to North Miami Beach in 1931. Since then, it has grown into a favorite relocation and retirement spot for folks from all over the U.S. and the world.
North Miami Beach is small and has an excellent public transportation system, which means that many of the residents do not have to rely on driving around as much. Its population is also very ethnically diverse and at the same time, property and violent crime rates are quite low. This is due in part to the common family values shared by the community of this little tropical haven. This is a place where residents can relax and raise their families in a safe and prosperous environment.
